Cosmetic Acupuncture

Gerda Ankenbauer-Spetch attended a number of post-graduate training course in Cosmetic Acupuncture with Jong Baik as well as with Radha Thambirajah, the author of the book "Cosmetic Acupuncture – A Traditional Chinese Medicine Approach to Cosmetic and Dermatological Problems.

As the title of Radha's book suggests, Cosmetic Acupuncture is much more than just face lifting with acupuncture needles, although this is one of its main uses.  Extra-fine needles, usually about 10 - 12 altogether, are inserted in the patient's face to lift the tissue and smooth fine (and not-so-fine) lines.

One of Gerda's patients said, "I was a bit apprehensive about having needles in my face but I needn't have worried as it was painless.  After just one treatment, the lines between my eyebrows and my crows' feet were visibly reduced.  My skin felt much firmer and fresher and friends and family have commented that I am looking radiant.  I am a convert to Cosmetic Acupuncture and I would recommend Gerda to anyone!"

Other methods used include massaging a special gel into the skin of the face, thus smoothing out any the appearance of wrinkles and generally firming the skin and Gerda attended a course on Facial Rejuvenation Techniques with Jong Baik who advocates the use of facial massage as being as effective as needles for improving skin condition.

Cosmetic Acupuncture may also help with other conditions such as Acne, Cellulite, Dandruff, Eczema, Vitiligo, Varicose Ulcers and Alopecia.  Please contact Gerda for a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your individual needs and devise a tailor-made treatment plan.
